WELCOME TO NECESSITY CLEANING
We look forward to cleaning your home and creating a fresh and healthy environment for you and your family.
THE IMPORTANT THINGS - please read
Your cleaning appointment is confirmed via a two-way text message the day before your scheduled clean. You must reply by clicking back on the text message to indicate you are expecting our arrival.
We only accept E-transfers as the method of payment. Payment for our service is "due upon completion" so please arrange to have payment sent by end of day on cleaning day. Send your payment to info@necessitycleaning.com. Autodeposit is enabled so no password is required.
Prepare for our arrival:
Please put your pets where they are safe and content, and pose no danger or threat to our staff. If you are unsure how your pet will react to us, please have them leashed and/or removed from the home entirely.
Toys should be tidied as much as possible. We don’t clean toys, but we want to get to as many spots in and around them.
Floors should be free of clothing and other items such as phone chargers and dirty dishes. As much as possible, “everything up and off the floor” should be the approach. Don’t forget to check under the beds!
Surfaces of counters, desks, and tables should be as tidy and organized as possible, and personal or precious items safely stored away.
We do not do dishes, so please ensure there are no dirty dishes in the kitchen sink.
We try our best not to disrupt you while we clean, however, some noise may occur. We encourage you to be on a different floor, or even better, out of the home while we clean. We will not clean a room where someone is sleeping. If a bedroom door is closed upon our arrival we do not enter that room.
Disposal of bathroom, laundry, and office garbage is part of our standard cleaning. (We do not, however, remove kitchen garbage or recycling unless specifically included in a customized clean).
Feminine hygiene products should be wrapped prior to placement in bathroom garbage receptacles. We do not touch un-wrapped used feminine hygiene products, contraceptive items, medical waste (needles or bandages) or diapers.
We do not clean human or pet vomit, feces (including cat litter), pet urine or any forms of blood.
We do not clean mould. Moulds produce allergens (substances that can cause an allergic reaction), irritants and, sometimes, toxic substances. Exposure to the toxicity of black mold can cause harm to physical health, and increases the chance of acquiring damaging health conditions by unsettling the toxins into the air. We recommend you contact a mould remediation service.
We clean - we don’t remediate. While some cleaning tasks improve the appearance of problem areas in your home, we make no guarantees of remediation or restoration. If an area of the home has been neglected or is in a particularly filthy, we will clean it to the best of our abilities, but do not guarantee the outcome. An example of this would be excessive hard water buildup. Successful scuff removal is dependant on the type of paint on the surface of the area - matte paint, or inexpensive builder grade paint rarely withstands scuff removal.
Our technicians clean with in the agreed upon scope of work. We understand, however, that on occasion you may want us to include something outside that. Let us know in advance so we’re prepared. In some cases, an additional fee may apply.
Feedback is important to us, and we use it to improve our services. If you have an concern please contact us immediately. The offer to return to your home to remedy a concern is available for up to 24 hours after the visit.
During winter months, please ensure your walkway is clear of ice and snow and salt put down on icy areas.
During summer months please set your air conditioning at an appropriate temperature for physical labour inside the home.
Severe weather events may cause a delay or cancellation of your visit for the safety of our staff. We follow local news and heed advice from police if they recommend staying off the roads.
If we encounter an active infestation of any kind (bugs, rodents, etc.) we will notify you as soon as possible but regret we will not be cleaning that area.
The fee established to clean your home has been based on the existing lifestyle and environment at the time of your quote. Significant changes within the household such as the addition of a pet(s), additional people living in the home, a new bathroom added, etc. will require an adjustment in your fee. If you decide you want to add another area of our home, or an added task to the scope of work, this must be pre-arranged, and an additonal fee may be required.
Cleaning fees are reviewed periodically and subject to change without notice to remain competitive and in line with cost of living increases. We will provide at least 30 days notice for a price increase.
We are unable to provide service if another service business is present in the home at the same time.
If you have renovations planned, please let us know in advance so we can best support you during a disruptive and messy period in your home.
We assume that you may want to suspend your service if you go away on vacation. We will happily suspend your cleaning free of charge twice during a calendar year. Suspension of service beyond that may result in a higher fee for the first visit back. Excessive cancellations may require re-evaluation of price, cleaning frequency or continued service.
We are closed on all Canadian statutory holidays. Based on your scheduled frequency, if your clean falls on a statutory holiday, consider that clean cancelled.
If you need to cancel your scheduled appointment for any reason, advance notice of more than 48 hours is required. Appointments cancelled in under 48 hours are subject to 50% of the total cleaning fee. We are unable to return to your home if there is an unpaid balance on your account.
If our technicians arrive at your home and are unable to gain access by the pre-arranged method, we will attempt to reach you via the contact number on file. The technicians will wait 15 minutes while attempting to resolve. A lock out fee equal to your cleaning fee will apply.
Necessity Cleaning Service supports local charitable organizations. We typically do something four times a year. We, along with generous donations from our clients, have helped support the Fill A Purse for a Sister Campaign. The Newmarket Food Pantry, The Canadian Mental Health Association, and The Lion’s Club Coats for Kids Campaign. Your participation in these efforts is completely voluntary, and not expected.
